THINK, THINK, THINK, THINK HEALTHCARE

Updated: Jun 26, 2023

OR, THNK, THINK, THINK, DO.

Critics of Doug Ford's Health Plan think, think, think how to screw us citizens. Doug Ford's Plan at least is to think, think, do. He is trying something - what a novel idea.

The System is Broken

Good on Doug Ford for taking on the health system, which includes those many self-serving individuals who just sit there and think, think, think. About what, is anyone's guess, but they got us into this mess so why would we want to listen to them anyway? People who think, think, think, wake up each morning still in the same place or backtracking to protect their own interests.

I do not have much patience for the "nay-sayers." They just think, think, think and have not done a damn thing.

At least, Doug Ford is attempting to make a difference. He could hide behind his fears of potential failure, but in my eyes, he has already won by taking the leap to do something.

And what is the worst that could happen? His plan could fail, possibly from those with self-interests working to scuttle any potential of success? But that aside, what is the worst that could happen? The plan does not work, and they have to go back to the drawing board.

The Ford government has made no secret of its plan to use private and not-for-profit clinics to clear Ontario’s surgical backlog and take pressure off an overburdened hospital system. And what is the big difference from

what we have now with "walk-in private clinics?" We have a system that is half pregnant - the self-interest folks don't complain about the private clinics - is it because they are taking advantage of them to get more work?

Who really knows what the nay-sayer's objectives are, other than self-interest?

As Doug Ford said, “People don’t care where they have to go as long as it has the same regulations, same top-notch doctors that are working in the hospital,”

The irony with all of this is, the folks that are complaining the most are the ones who helped create the mess we are in. An example is Bob Bell, ex-Ontario deputy minister of health and former head of the University Health Network, calling Ford's plan “simply dumb."

On the flip side, several qualified people suggest it will be a good try.

Across Canada, the issue of healthcare has touched every one of us. Politicians have been too scared to take it on, thinking, thinking, thinking. Now there is Doug Ford, thinking, thinking, do. And that is all we can ask for.

Thank you to Doug Ford for taking a "kick at the can."

Best of success with your plan to fix the healthcare system from:
